So cool. And a VERY good job on the knotwork design.

carving knots makes brains collapse, when you need to present and hold the whole image in your head, very good mind training %)

This is why I always carefully pencil knotwork on, then scratch it in gently with a sharp knife so I can't smudge it away before carving. Keeps me from getting it mixed up and doing a crossing wrong. But then, my husband is the one who is better at designing knotwork, so he often does the penciling.

well don i was wonderring is there a difrence in texture between mammoth ivory and something like a cow bone? dos one works nicer than the other ?
Reply
:iconshivha:
they differ, not only in textures (mammoth tusks have grid patterns). cow bone is "flat" concerning to "deep" mammoth and has lower dimension.

oo i see and yes that is true u cant make to much dimension to a peach of cow bone

Around these parts, when we find ourselves on a particularly winding road, we compare it to "A Snake With a Bellyache.."
This might actually be a Gordian Snake.. with a bellyache.

Nicely done.

natural things are straight rarely, usually everything is weaving and winding, even when you see it flat
